T20 World Cup: Tariq Saeed refutes claims of being roped in as commentator by ICC

Rumours have been abuzz on social media circulating regarding the appointment of Pakistani cricket commentator Tariq Saeed as T20 World Cup's Urdu and Hindi commentator by ICC.

However, the cricket presenter and expert refuted the news as he turned to Twitter and clarified that the reports making rounds on social media were baseless.

He tweeted: “There is news circulating about me doing ICC World T20 Hindi and Urdu commentary, but I am not aware of such development.”

“Any way I am really thankful for the kind messages from the cricket fraternity who have always supported me”, he said.

Earlier, fans had rejoiced when the rumours started circulating but their excitement was unfortunately short-lived as Saeed set the record straight, not long after.

Meanwhile, the event co-hosted by UAE and Oman is all set to kick-off on the October 17 till November 14. It will be the first mega-event hosted by ICC since the beginning of the pandemic.

Pakistan will play their warm-up matches against West Indies and South Africa before kicking-off their World Cup campaign by pointing their guns at arch-rivals India in a much-anticipated clash on October 24.
