Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has been named in the recently published investigative report, called Pandora Papers, which exposed financial secrets of the powerful and elite across the world, on Sunday.
The investigative report that was released on Sunday by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), leaked 11.9 million documents from 14 financial services companies globally.
The former cricketer and his wife Anjali Tendulkar as well as his father-in-law Anand Mehta have been named in the investigation of records of Panama law firm Alcogal which are part of Pandora Papers.
The three were named as Beneficial Owners and Directors of a BVI-based company called Saas International Limited.
However, Tendulkar’s attorney denies any wrongdoings regarding the investment: “Tendulkar’s attorney said the cricket player’s investment is legitimate and has been declared to tax authorities.”
