Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) co-owner and Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan may find himself in a spot of bother after being seen smoking a cigarette in the stadium during the match between Kolkata and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Eden Gardens.
The Bollywood superstar is no stranger to getting into trouble due to his behaviour in a stadium during an IPL match. In 2012, he was embroiled in a significant controversy following an altercation with the security personnel and officials during a match between KKR and Mumbai Indians.
Subsequently, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) imposed a five-year ban on him, prohibiting his entry into MCA premises, including the Wankhede Stadium.
Now Shah Rukh Khan could once again attract negative attention. He was present as KKR commenced their IPL 2024 campaign on Saturday (23rd March). During the 11th over of KKR’s batting innings, cameras captured him smoking a cigarette.

Sunrisers looked to be all but out of the massive run chase against KKR (209), after losing wickets through the middle phase of the innings.
At one point, Sunrisers were 107-3 and needed another 102 runs from 50 balls. That worsened to 94 runs needed off 36 balls at the end of the 14th over.
From there, however, Klaasen teed off. He hit two sixes off Varun Chakravarthy’s next over, with Abdul Samad chipping with two boundaries off Russell in the 17th. Klaasen then whacked another three sixes off Varun in the 18th to reduce the equation to 39 runs needed off the final two.
Mitchell Starc bowled the 19th over and conceded 26 runs and only 13 runs were left in the last over. Sunrisers were cruising when Klaasen hit Hashit Rana for six off his first ball but he gave away only three in the final five balls to hand KKR the win.
Earlier, KKR set a formidable total of 208 for 7 in the allocated 20 overs.
KKR were in a precarious position at 119 for 6 in the 14th over until Andre Russell played a blistering innings. He and Rinku Singh put together an 81-run partnership for the seventh wicket before T Natarajan broke the stand in the final over by dismissing Singh for 23 runs.
Russell, however, remained unbeaten on 64. His innings came off just 25 balls and was adorned with three fours and seven sixes. T Natarajan claimed three wickets for SRH, while Mayank Markande picked up two.
