MUZAFFARABAD: Sohaib Maqsood led Bagh Stallions to an eight-run victory over Mirpur Royals in the fifth match of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) here at the Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium.
Stallions posted a decent 189 runs on the scoreboard before restricting the Royals to a 181-4.
Opening batter Hassan Nawaz and Ali Imran gave a solid start to the Royals as they scored 47 runs each. Imran was exceptional yet again, reaching the 47 in just 28 balls before getting out to Aamer Yamin.
Royals' skipper Shoaib Malik put on a terrific performance and scored 42 runs but Aamer Jamal sent him back to the pavilion.
Left-handed batter Haris Sohail also scored 26 runs in 15 balls, but unluckily he was run out by Aamir Shehzad.
For Stallons, Jamal claimed two wickets while Yamin claimed a wicket.
Earlier, Sohaib was sensational against the Royals as he scored a 53-ball 72 to steer the Royals 189 runs.
Hasan Raza also delivered with the bat for the Stallions as he smashed 36 runs in 22 balls before getting out to Abrar Ahmed.
Umar Amin and Muhammad Sarwar scored 25 and 27 runs, respectively, to help their side reach 189.
For the Royals, Abrar and Yasir Shah claimed two wickets each.
