KARACHI: The newly elected government under Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has decided to remove Ramiz Raja from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairmanship, sources told this correspondent.

PM Shahbaz, who is also the Patron-in-Chief of PCB, is expected to nominate two names in Board of Governors for next chairman PCB. According to sources, former PCB chief Najam Sethi and Shakil Sheikh are likely to be nominated by the PM.

However, Raja had called PCB staffers to tell them that he has got 'green signal' from the government to continue working. "I have been told to continue working as PCB chairman," Raja told PCB staffers. "We should now focus on work rather than thinking about what is going to happen," he said.
