Kolkata Knight Riders' Rinku Singh was thrilled as he finally received the bat he had been requesting from RCB's Virat Kohli for some time. This came after the two teams clashed at the Eden Gardens on April 21.
Before their meeting in Kolkata, a video had circulated showing the UP-based batter asking Kohli for a new bat. He explained that the previous bat he had been given had broken while playing against a spinner.
After the match, Rinku was spotted following Kohli, seemingly attempting once again to persuade his senior to give him one of his bats.
In the end, the left-hander's wish was granted, as shown in a video posted by KKR's official account on X (formerly Twitter).
Rinku may not be enjoying the best of seasons with the bat, but this is understandable given his role as the finisher and the limited opportunities he's had with the top order consistently performing well.
The left-hander has managed to score 107 runs off just 26 balls this season, showing that he still possesses the ability to score quickly; he just hasn't had many chances to bat.
As for the match between KKR and RCB, it was another high-scoring affair in the 2024 IPL season. The home side set a target of 223, with skipper Shreyas Iyer top-scoring with 50 off 36 balls.
