UFC star Manon Fiorot beat Erin Blanchfield at UFC Fight Night main event but the French star didn’t get much time to celebrate her victory as she was transported to a local hospital for precautionary reasons.
As per UFC’s protocols, any fighter enduring a tough fight or facing any sort of serious injury would be transported to a hospital nearby rather than staying to speak to the media.
As per MMA Fighting, Fiorot’s camp confirmed that there was “nothing serious” regarding any kind of potential surgery as the French international was laughing and smiling on her way to and out of the hospital.
This was Fiorot’s seventh successive win as she displayed a remarkable performance consisting of striking, keeping her opponent at a considerable distance as she went on to win with a unanimous decision 50-45 50-45 50-45 on the judges’ scorecards after five rounds.
She is now a strong contender to compete for the title in the flyweight division. Current champion Alexa Grasso is set to lock horns with Valentina Shevchenko as the two could be sharing the octagon soon to complete their Trilogy fight and Fiorot would be waiting to meet the winner in her next fight.
“I'm ready," Fiorot said through an interpreter during her post-fight interview. "No matter what, I want my title shot.”
