Nadeem Omar becomes head of Karachi cricket

Nadeem Omar, who owns Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Quetta Gladiators, has been elected (un-opposed) as president of Regional Cricket Association (RCA) Karachi.

The election process in Karachi, one of the biggest cricket regions, has been completed with Nadeem and company sweeping seats in majority of the zones.

Javed Ahmed Khan has been elected (un-opposed) as secretary.

According to the notification issued on June 7 by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Nadeem will be the president of Karachi cricket for next three years.

The office bearers have been directed to submit undertaking within three days.

Nadeem is well known among Karachi's cricket fraternity. His cricket club named 'Pakistan Club' has produced top-class cricketers including former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed.

He owns Quetta team which is the one of the most successful teams in PSL. His team won the PSL title in 2019 under the captaincy of Sarfaraz.
