LAHORE: Former Test fast bowler Aqib Javed responded to PCB's Director High-Performance Centre (NHPC), Nadeem Khan's claims of having found 20 bowlers who can bowl at a speed of 140+.

Speaking to Geo News, Aqib took a dig at Khan's statement and said fast bowling hasn't been an issue for Pakistan over the years.

"We always dominate in the fast bowling department, it hasn't been an issue for us at all," Aqib said.

"If you want to focus, then it is middle-order batting, spin bowling, and all-around department. These areas are an issue for you," Aqib suggested to Khan.

Aqib mainly focused on spin bowling and emphasized the need to work on it. "I think there is a huge gap in our spin bowling. We need to work hard and find quality spinners," he said.

While talking about Pakistan's upcoming Test tour of Sri Lanka, Aqib said the Green Caps will find it easy to play in similar conditions to their home.

"Playing in Sri Lanka has always been easy for us as conditions there are similar to Pakistan," he said.

"Our boys should prepare well and win this series to gain valuable points," the cricketer-turned-coach reiterated.
