A1GP World Cup of Motorsport (A1GP)
is the first opportunity in any area of motorsport for
nations, rather than drivers, to compete on a level
playing field. It’s a series where technology
and innovation are deliberately equalised and performance
is determined by human bravery, skill and excellence.
Now in its third season, more than 20
national teams from countries as diverse as the USA,
Lebanon, France, China and South Africa contest the
series which takes place in the traditional motor racing
?off-season? between October and April. The 11-round
calendar includes events at some of the world’s
most famous tracks, developing facilities and purpose-built
street circuits.
Established in 2004, A1GP pits country
against country in a race for national pride. Combining
the best elements of true world sporting events such
as the Olympic Games and the FIFA World Cup with the
technology and adrenaline charge of top-flight motor
racing, A1GP is unique in international motorsport.
