FRIDAY

Day one of the race weekend offers the first opportunity to experience the World Cup of Motorsport as the A1GP race cars hit the circuit for two action packed practice sessions. Each lasts one hour in total with the first split into two 25 minute segments with a ten minute break giving rookie drivers and those from developing motorsport nations a chance to learn the track and feed information and data back to their team.

SATURDAY

Saturday features the third one hour practice session from 11.00 to 12.00 before the teams prepare for qualifying in the afternoon. Qualifying runs in four 15 minute segments with a five minute break between each and determines the grid positions for both races. During each of the four segments, each team runs an out lap, one flying lap and an in lap to set one lap time. Each team's fastest lap from the first two qualifying sessions is its qualifying time which determines the Sprint race grid. Each team's fastest lap from the second two qualifying sessions is its qualifying time which determines the Feature race grid.

SUNDAY

Race day action begins with the 19 minutes (plus one lap) Sprint race at 11.00. The pit lane opens at 10.20 for the teams to get into position before a rolling start kicks off the race. The later Feature race begins at 15.00. From a standing start, the teams race for 69 minutes (plus one lap) with each having to make two compulsory pit stops for full tyre changes. The window for the first pit stop is between laps eight and 16. The window for the second pit stop will only be released half an hour before the start of each Feature race.
